As soon as Thanksgiving is over, everything Christmas is soon brought out, and everyone is in the Christmas spirit. But is there a such thing as too much Christmas?

In my family, there is no such thing as too much Christmas.  Each year, we put up at least five Christmas trees. My mom tries to have each tree with a theme and have a tree in each room that guests might congregate. She even puts Christmas trees outside, like on the back porch, and in front of the house with our decorative reindeer.

Compared to our neighbors, my mom is a moderate Christmas enthusiast. My neighbor Devan Thomas’s (11) step-mom goes all out with the Christmas trees. Devan’s little sisters, Sumner, five, and Cosby, six,  have themes for each of their trees.

Sumner loves unicorns, and her mom, Amanda Thomas, did everything possible to turn Sumner’s Christmas tree into a unicorn. Amanda even put a light up unicorn next to the tree.  Cosby absolutely loves mermaids, and Amanda transformed her tree into a reef filled with mermaids.

Is there such thing as too much Christmas? When asked, students around campus had different reactions to Christmas. One side thinks people go too crazy over the holiday. The other side says there is no such thing as going over the top.

Sidney Singleton (10) expressed her views that people go too crazy over the holiday.

“I think it’s crazy how people are obsessed with Christmas. It’s just crazy how people can go all out, and it can be overwhelming at times.” Singleton said.

Abigail Tindell (10) expressed her view that it is okay to go all out for the holiday.

“I feel like it is okay to be obsessed with Christmas, because it is celebrating a good thing. As long as you don’t start going crazy before Thanksgiving. “ Tindell said.
