After all the final grades are submitted and summer vacation is about to begin, everyone looks forward to the day that the annual yearbook comes out.

Although students spend their time flipping through the pages looking for themselves and their friends, they do not know how much hard work and late nights are spent creating the book by the staff.

The Trojan 19’ staff spends hours everyday putting together the book that tells the story of the school year. Gathering hundreds of quotes and taking thousands of pictures of their classmates, the hustle never stops for the staff.

Staff member Maggie Nguyen (12) has been on yearbook staff since seventh grade.

Nguyen says “The yearbook process is so meticulous to the point of frustration. But the physical product that comes out is tangible proof of our hard work, making it all worth it.”

Working in the JLab on 400 hall for hours on end is hard work, but in the end the hard work pays off with all the positive feedback the staff members receive.

Senior staff member Abby Giles (12) said, “It’s really rewarding to get positive feedback from students and faculty. We work so hard to publish something that not only looks good but makes people feel good, so to hear positive things from people makes  our hard job much easier.”

Both staff members explain that the hard work put into the book has always paid off over the years they have been on staff. The Trojan 19 always works hard every year to cover every student on both campuses at least three times, making sure that everyone can flip through the pages and find themselves more than once.

As you see staff members covering different events, remember the hard work they are putting in and that they are covering and capturing history.
