According to this year’s experienced football players, coming back from a state title to a regular season has been overwhelming. The football players have been so eager to get back on the field. They have been looking forward to this season and hoping to win another state title.

Tavian Mayo (12) said, “This year, the schedule is tougher and has a lot more competition.”

The team has two captains: offensive player Kyle Toole (11) and defensive captain is Mayo.

When asked  what really encourages the team, Dashawn King (12) said, “It’s about knowing what’s going on on the field and being determined to get our own {state championship] ring.”

When it comes right down to it, the players really just want one thing; the upperclassmen just want to improve more than they did last year and win another state title.

I am a player this year on this years football team and also a senior, and my own goal is to get this ring. And keep it going for the following players who come after us — to hand them the torch.

Our football team is one of the BEST. We are definitely B.E.A.S.T. they say some things can’t be done twice but this is LEE we’re talking about anything with us is possible. We’re going to make it to the ship and be CHAMPS once again.

I am a senior player this year for the football team, and our mindset this year is to do better than last year. To do so we are going to have to beat Valdosta. Lee County’s football team has not beaten Valdosta since the 70s. So our two goals are beating Valdosta and winning another State Championship.
