Spring break is always the most anticipated holiday after Christmas break. Students enjoy getting a week off of school and heading to the beach with friends. Some do not know exactly where they want to go. Listed below are the top 10 most popular Spring Break destinations, and why they are so popular.

Panama City Beach – P.C.B. is the spring break capital of the world. The huge spring break party takes place on 18 miles of white sand beaches and right on the Emerald Coast. Large groups will fill up buses to make their way to this popular beach spot along the Gulf of Mexico. This is a very popular spot because it is affordable and fun.

Daytona Beach – This tropical paradise has been a haven for spring breakers for decades. It is located directly on the Atlantic Ocean with a warm breeze and
surrounded by the inter-coastal waterway where dolphins play with jet ski and paddle board riders. Near Daytona’s famous pier, vacationers will find rides, attractions, and
arcades, along with the Daytona Beach Bandshell that stages free oceanfront concerts.

Lake Havasu – Located in western Arizona and home to the London Bridge, Lake Havasu is the #1 spring break spot on the west coast. It is known for its warm days, with over 300 days of sunshine and cool nights. In the Channel Riverwalk and Village area, visitors will have access to area shopping, dining, and attractions all within walking distance. Visitors can rent a boat or jet ski and explore some of the hot spots on Lake Havasu.

Cape Cod – The Cape Cod peninsula contains plenty of cute little villages, beaches, ports, lighthouses, and restaurants to explore. This destination has been an east coast holiday favorite for decades. Visitors can take part in many different activities, such as sports, camping, biking, hiking, and many more.

Key West – This southernmost point in Florida’s Key West is dedicated to partying and sunning year-round. It is known as the wildest party destination for spring break. Although the beaches are not the best, it still has the addition of gorgeous weather and fantastic scenery.

Myrtle Beach – Over 14 million people descend onto Myrtle Beach every year for swimming, seafood, and shopping. Its name as the perfect Southern beach weekend can cause the beaches to be crowded during peak season. Myrtle Beach’s Broadway is full of nightlife, shops, restaurants, a movie theater, and an aquarium, as well as a variety of shows and concerts.

New Orleans – One of America’s biggest party cities, New Orleans has some great weather during the spring to accompany its fantastic Cajun and Creole cuisine. It may not have a great beach, but it does have plenty of live music, good food, and shopping.

Santa Catalina Island – This group of islands is 22 miles off the coast of Southern California. Snorkeling and Scuba Diving are popular endeavors. There are plenty of glass-bottom boats and semi-submarine rides. If you’re interested in wildlife, there is a zip line Eco-tour available.

Mackinac Island – The island is a three-in-one destination and is a hidden gem of Michigan. Tourists can visit Mackinac for a more outdoorsy experience, with biking, hiking, horse-riding, and paddling. Visitors can cure their sweet tooth with the island’s famous fudge at fudgie Mackinac. Tours of the island are available on foot or bike, or even kayak and paddle board. Golfing and fishing are popular endeavors. It is recommended to bring a bike, as Mackinac is known for its island-wide motor vehicle ban.
